I’m sorry but is it already MARCH? What the what!!! Where did February go? Time sure flies when you stay so busy with everything. We work full time jobs and have 3 kids. All that together keeps us on our toes and to top things off we just sowed I don’t even known how many seeds this past weekend. It took forever!!! We don’t have a green house yet but hope to have one someday soon. In the meantime, we set up a folding table in my kitchen and got to work. I think we planted a little bit of everything. Several different kinds of tomatoes, squash, peppers, onions, cabbage, lettuce, etc. Ended up ordering more on Sunday night.
We have mosquitos at our place and I swear they are the size of hummingbirds. They are ginormous and come by the masses. I’m almost certain that the sub zero temps didn’t kill any of them. It is redonkulous!!! This year I wanted to plant some different things that help repel them so hopefully what we ordered helps. Keeping our fingers crossed anyways!
Things are a slow go with the farm. We are still trying to figure out where things should go and how to get started building different structures we might need. It is all very overwhelming. Most of our land is woods and we mow about 3 acres for our yard. The wooded areas are so overgrown and thick that we need to pick an area and just start cleaning and clearing. We really need an organizer for our property. Someone to say “hey this needs to go here and this needs to go there”. Is there such a thing as that?
The weather has been soooooooo crappy the past couple of weeks. We had a dad gum blizzard for a week and after that melted it has done nothing but rain. It will take 2 months of warm weather to dry out our yard. It makes a squishy noise when you walk across it. I am just ready for warmer temps and some sunshine.
In the meantime, my kids are transitioning from basketball to softball/baseball and cheer tryouts. My bonus baby is a Junior this year so he is focusing on academics and what to do with life after high school. He is a smarty pants like his dad! That will be a big adjustment for him as it is for all kids but he will do just fine.
We hope you continue to follow our family on this adventure. Until next time……….
