We have officially started putting down fence posts this past week. We got 5 put down and still have about 20+ to go. Keep in mind that there hasn’t been a fence or livestock on our property in forever so this will be a slow go on the fence. We only have a brush cutter and tractor. Those are a big help but a dozer would help even more. We have a lot of pine trees on our property. I will be calling around to see if we can get a logging company to cut just the pines and leave any hard wood that is out there. Hopefully we can get some grass to grow out there if we open the land up more by cutting some of the trees. We don’t want it to be wide open. We think it would be best for them to have some kind of shade.
Some of our seedlings are looking a little blah. I tried to transplant some of them and got so frustrated that I just quit. I think I broke more than I got transplanted and the ones I did get transplanted, I’m not sure will make it. My mom was always the expert on growing things. She had a greenhouse when we were little. I can’t remember what all she had but almost certain it was mostly houseplants and not any garden vegetables. Will just keep on trying if something fails.
I don’t know about anyone else but this time change is kicking my tail this go around. I usually don’t have a big issue with it but for some reason it has been rough on me. Don’t get me wrong…….I am thoroughly enjoying the longer days. I live for long, warm, sunny days. It’s my thing!! It makes me happiest!!!
Our anniversary was this past week. We have been married 3 years. Seems like longer though. We got married on St. Patrick’s Day by accident. We were just trying to fit in our wedding in between my kid’s busy athletic careers they have going on. We looked at the calendar and said hey nothing happening this weekend so lets do it! Realized a couple of days later what day it was. We have millions of people every year drinking and partying it up for our anniversary or so I’d like to think….hahahaha! I know I’m a handful and I warned Brandon of that before we got married so there are a lot of days I wonder why Brandon keeps me around. I’m such a train wreck! Guess he knew what he signed up for when he married me. I am complicated to say the least. Soooooo here’s to many more years together handsome!! We can drink to us after work 🙂
Aaron decided he would go to prom this year instead of being a waiter. I think the theme is the roaring 20’s. Brandon took him last weekend to pick out a tux/suit. We ended up buying one instead of renting. Wasn’t much difference in the price so hopefully he will get some use out of it and not outgrow it before he can wear it again. Not sure if he will take anyone just yet. Finally got his ACT score back. He scored a 28 this go around. That was a couple of points more than the first time he took it. Found out that Aaron was accepted to Governor’s School so we are really hoping that he chooses to go. We think he would have a great time and learn so much from attending and not to mention it would look good on any college applications. I did hear from the taxidermist about Wesley’s bobcat. It is ready to be picked up!!! We haven’t told Wes yet. Was gonna let it be a surprise! We are still waiting to hear from a coach from Hampton Rec about Morgan and Wesley’s ball team. In the meantime, Morgan agreed to play ball with another travel team while Boom is on the back burner during high school ball. Most of the girls on Boom are older than her. Someone I went to school with spoke highly of her to a coach in Smackover and he reached out to me. Went to a practice and the coach was very impressed with her so needless to say we agreed to play ball with him with the exception that when Boom picked back up she would play with that team.
